The Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Ofsted have announced today that they are conducting a local Area Special Educational Needs and or disabilities (SEND) inspection in Dudley.
Fieldwork will begin on 16 January 2025. Inspectors will commence onsite work from 20 January 2025 to 24 January 2025.
The inspectors want to understand what it's like to be a child or young person with SEND in your local area and whether the education health and care services for children with special educational needs and or disabilities (SEND) are effective.
The inspectors will gather feedback in a variety of ways; through surveys, looking at data, talking to the local authority, education settings and SEND senior leaders and they also carry out focussed sampling of children’s cases and visits.
Parent carers, children and young people and practitioners are being asked to complete an online survey.
We have been asked to share with parents/carers information regarding HAF activities taking place in Dudley borough. The information has been given to pupils to take home, but can also be found on the link below.
School will be closed to pupils on Thursday 4th July to accomodate the polling station for the General Election.
A message from the Vaccination Team
There has been an outbreak of Measles in the West Midlands.
Vaccination UK have been instructed by NHSE to administer the MMR vaccination to all school aged children who are outstanding one or both doses. The MMR would have first been given at the age of 1 years-old, and the second dose at 3 years and 4 months.
If your child is outstanding one or both doses of the MMR, please contact Vaccination UK on 01384 431712 to make an appointment. This will be at an alternative venue and NOT at the school.
We are able to administer the MMR to any adult who requires either dose, please check the NHS app, to see if you are eligible, prior to calling.
Please note: Unfortunately, there are no clinics in Dudley at the moment.
Flu Clinics have been extended into January 2024, with an opportunity for young people to be vaccinated at a range of clinics.
The attached leaflet from the NHS contains further details.
We have been asked to share the following message with our school families from the NHS:
Measles cases are on the rise locally, with confirmed cases in Birmingham. The NHS is calling on you to check your child's MMR vaccination status.
Measles can lead to serious complications, but two doses of the MMR vaccine provide lifelong protection.
Protect your children's health, contact your GP to catch up on any missed vaccinations.
The attached leaflet contains further details.
